TrustEd Future

The association Voice4You was granted project development funding from Medier & demokrati to develop a project idea on how schools and media can collaborate to strengthen young people’s knowledge about media and news

Completed

The association Voice4You, with journalists Jenny Sköld and Lotta Bergseth – the people behind the publishing tool Mobile Stories – was granted development funding from Medier & demokrati for the project idea TrustEd Future. The aim was to explore how schools and media can collaborate to strengthen young people’s trust in sources, engagement and understanding of journalism through their own media production in the classroom.

In its first stage, the project aimed to map needs and resources within schools and media, identify potential partners and develop a plan for long-term funding. One goal was to contribute new research-based knowledge about young people’s media production in a Swedish context.

– We look forward to focusing on Sweden and deepening the understanding of how journalism in schools can contribute to a more resilient and democratic society

According to Martin Holmberg, programme manager at Medier & demokrati, the project aligned well with the programme’s focus and connected practice and research in a socially important area.
